Annual
Golf Day
Cowbridge Cricket Club’s Annual Golf Day was held at The Vale Hotel, Golf
and Spa Resort in May courtesy of the Leeke family. A change of venue this
year from the prestigious “National” to “The Lake Course” did not impact
on the event and the day was again a splendid affair.
A range
of teams competed in a friendly and fun competition and 2008 saw the first
(and hopefully not the last) female participant. Following the round, an
excellent buffet dinner was provided and awards presented by the Club’s
President to the winning team, for the
longest drive, nearest the pin, and the
best individual score. Scores varied considerably but enjoyment was the
purpose of the day and this was certainly achieved. Prizes were presented
to the following.
Individual Stableford – Laurie

Best Team – Paul Freeman, Laurie
Hill, Adrian Butler & Collin White
Nearest the Pin – James Davies
Longest Drive – Neil McOmish
We would like to thank the Leeke family
for the use of the course, along with the staff at The Vale who ensured
that the day went without a hitch. Thank you also to those who entered
teams, many of whom travelled considerable distances to be with us. Thanks
also to those who donated prizes and to Jonathan Smart for organizing a
most successful event.
