Annual
Golf Day, 15th May
Cowbridge Cricket Club’s Annual Golf Day
was held at The Vale Hotel, Golf and Country Club in May. The prestigious
“National” was the venue courtesy of the Leeke family and the day was
again a splendid affair.
Eighteen teams competed in a friendly
and fun competition on a slightly overcast day on a truly magnificent
course. Following the round, a buffet dinner was provided and awards
presented by the President to the winning team, for the longest drive,
nearest the pin, and the best individual score.
Scores varied considerably but enjoyment
was the purpose of the day and this was certainly achieved. Prizes were
presented to the following:-
Individual Stableford – Robert
Howells
Best Team – A Bennett, A Brace, G
Brook, D Scarson (pictured)
Nearest the Pin – Robert Camm
Longest Drive – Andrew Gibson
We would like to thank the Leeke family
for the use of the course, along with the staff at The Vale who ensured
that the day went without a hitch. Thank you also to those who entered
teams, many of whom travelled considerable distances to be with us. Thanks
also to those who donated prizes and to Jonathan Smart for organizing a
most successful event.
